BIOGRAPHY
1968 Graduated from East Sydney Technical College in Commercial Illustration (with Credit). Worked commercially for 35 years in the Advertising & Publishing Industries. Becoming the Art Director for Cleo, Woman's Day and Wellbeing magazines.
1970s Two joint exhibitions with well-known artist Susan Cadby.
 
Taught silk screen printing at Waverley Woollahra Art Centre
1994 Established a graphic design studio called Rob-Art Studios with his wife, specialising in desktop publishing of magazines, newsletters, brochures and advertising material.
2000 Studied life drawing and painting at The Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney. Began to paint full time in his studio in Stanmore. Started to enter local community art shows in Sydney.
2001 Began etching and life drawing at The Waverly Woollahra Art Centre.
 
Travelled to Italy on a painting and sketching tour with Margaret Cowling, a well-known water colourist from Melbourne. Painted on site in watercolours in Florence, Rome, Venice and Paris. On return participated in joint exhibition with fellow artist Jo Josephsen at The Curtis Gallery, Balmain.
 
Painting tour of Kakadu, Darwin. Produced oil paintings plus etchings of the local landscape.
2002 Travelled with group of artists to Kakadu, Katherine Gorge and Litchfield National Park and on return conducted a second joint exhibition at The Curtis Gallery in Balmain with Jo Josephsen.
 
Was awarded a Commended for an etching, by The Drummoyne Art Society.
2003 In May went on a painting safari to The Kimberley to gather material for next outback exhibition in 2004.
 
Awarded a Commended for etching by The Drummoyne Art Society, another etching acquired by Blacktown City Council for its permanent collection.
2004 Selected to enter The Outback Art Prize by The Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery. Won a Highly Commended for a watercolour and a Commended for an etching in The Drummoyne Art Show plus 2 Highly Commended for etchings in The Ryde City Art Prize.
2005 Etching acquired by The Broken Hill Regional Gallery for its permanent collection.
 
Travelled to Cape York on painting safari, painting watercolours on site.
 
First solo show at The GIG Gallery, Glebe.
2006 Travelled to South Africa, photographed wild animals for future material resulting in a series of paintings and etchings.
 
Second solo show at The GIG Gallery, Glebe.
