Born July 10 in Stanmore, Sydney, Australia
Colin Husband is a Sydney-based commercial and advertising photographer and an accomplished artist.
He works in his studio at Artarmon, Sydney and on location throughout Australia and overseas. A camera is his constant companion and over the years he has amassed an extensive portfolio of images, many of which are available in digital formal.
Colin’s work is included in the Fuji/ACMP Photographers Collection at the Art Gallery of NSW and in the permanent collection of Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery. His portrait of creative director and singer Paul Bennett hung in the 2000 Archibald Prize and he was a winner of the Outback Art Prize in 2002.
Despite early promise – Colin won an art prize at Blaxland Gallery when a student – it was not until the late 1990s that he again tackled a paintbrush.
Colin’s early training as an industrial designer enables him to utilise his strong knowledge of materials to great effect in his both photographic assignments and more recently in his artworks, which regularly combine different mediums. |
